I could not leave you
I could not leave you
not now, that I realized how beautiful it is
to smile
I could not leave you
now that I have a slight perception
to be still alive
I could not leave you
now that my eyes have found the light again
and rediscovered the beauty of different colors.
I could not leave you
now that a chink has opened
into that dark labyrinth
that had engulfed my soul.
I could not leave you
although this might me seem a bit 'selfish
because of that desire I have
to be always close of you.
I could not leave you
though sometimes, despair takes me
at the thought of being as a burden for you
and piety, is the last thing that I do not want from you
I could not leave you
but a free spirit dwells in me
that after having been mishandled strongly,
is no longer capable
to live in complete harmony
that there may be between body and soul.
I could not leave you
but my soul no longer has the strength
to cling to a dream
and that is why I tell you goodbye
even if I need you
I could not leave you
not now, that I realized how beautiful it is
to smile
I could not leave you
now that I have a slight perception
to be still alive
I could not leave you
now that my eyes have found the light again
and rediscovered the beauty of different colors.

This is such a profound piece of literature, with beautifully visualised emotions and yet so sad!
